Daniel is here for a short visit! As soon as I introduced him to Abbo he was given the name, D'ENGE. Which means tall, skinny one. Now compared to the Gabra Daniel is not so skinny but it's a good name for him. These pics have no sequence... they just show a bit of what we did while D'enge was here. Barille, D'enge and Barako.
We had loose firewood ontop of the truck and as we drove toward a lone palm tree, in the middle of the desert, we said the we were "lookig for rope"... D'enge was a bit confused and was looking around on the ground for 'rope'. But it didn't take him long to join us in making ropes out of palm branchs
This is inovation for you... you place the speaker ontop of the hole to make your own base system.
I am glad that Daniel was here long enough to get a chance to go out to the villages to see some Bible story telling.
Kalacha T.V. channel 3... Barbara putting in contacts.
We were visiting and a huge dust devil smashed right into their house... so Daniel offered to help- to the amusment of all watching- because fixing houses is women's work!
Chai at Robe's... Dan was a bit suprised at the amount of chai we drink!
Daniel - suffering from the heat, a stomach bug, sunburn as well as very sore legs from long periods of sitting on small rocks... He is such a good sport!
Visiting and chai drinking.
Brushing teeth in the morning.
Camel fly - the bane of our existance. I have yet to kill one of those things... They are almost immortal, you cannot kill them unless you decapitate them... I am not kidding. You can squish it with a rock and it will still fly away. Daniel was learning from Robe how to pull their heads off.
Our neighbor just out front gave us a present of meat... now that is very exciting because meat is scarce when it is drought time and here our neighbor is sharing with us!
One of our neighbors coming with a request.
You can't see, but D'enge is playing Jenga with the children... Jenga=build in Swahili.
Sabdio Diko playing 'Rush Hour'... THANK YOU CONNIE!!!
Daniel is making cars for our sisters.
Guchi is so cute!
Daniel driving in the Chalbi... according to our passengers he is an 'expert driver'.
I refused to do his laundry... my Gabra friends were shocked that I would not do my brother's laundry!
We have heard that if a scorpian is put into a ring of fire it will sting itself to death rather than burn... Daniel wanted to see if it was true!

So, don't leave us hanging, WHAT DID THE SCORPION DO?
Great photos. I'm still in the Yukon so I'll be here when you come back!
You're coming back right?
