As we arrived Dad asked... "Where are we going?" as he watched the desert stretch out to the horizen in both directions!!!
Dad's outside bed... he gets more wind there.
They finally made it to Kalacha.
Barbara and I grabbed Rachel's dog to paint... Happy Canada day!
We had some left over food coloring, so we painted the sheep as well!
The stunt kite is a big hit!
Happy 4th of July!
We decided to take off the whitewash inside of our house, because it was so dusty and messy.
Then we redid it with nice, new, clean mud walls!
Our watermelons actually grew!!! Not very big, but they sure were tasty!
I don't know if I could have really done anything if he had decided to go somewhere... ah well, it was fun to pretend to help!
Mom and Dad practicing being nomadic.
The cheap version of a 'rub-on-tan'. It takes more than one shower to get all of the dust off after a road trip here!

Charmyn, Many blessings! I hope Mom and Dad have a great time in the remote African desert. It might be best to clean that dirt off their faces before they pass through Canada Customs.
Kudos for your fine blog. Keep up the good work.
wow charm, love the pictures. I must say it looks like it suits your parents, living out there :) By the way, your 'sheep' is actually an african Boar Goat..... you have once again failed at animal memory : ) Hahahahahaha.....
love you!
Yeah for the new mudwalls. Your home looks awesome. Enjoy the time with your parents. I know it means SO SO SO much! Miss you. Karebear and Bones
CHARMYN!!! You never told me about painting Kinga!!! That's the best thing EVER!
Dear Charmyn,
Going to be hard to let your parents go, but your dad sounds like he has fallen in love with Africa and wants to go there after retirement. Great pictures. Love the Boer goat one. May God continue to watch over you Love A. Joyce
Hey Aunty Joyce and Lisa... I am glad you like the pics! I haven't had much time to post because mom and dad have kept me busy!
But I did have time to look up what sort of sheep it is... it is a 'fat tailed sheep', specifically a blackhead persian. If it was a goat it would have brains, but as it is these things are more than stupid!
